Privacy Policy — Nawara Academy app

Last updated: 1 September 2026. This policy covers the Nawara Academy app — the Android and iOS app, and the web version at app.nawaraacademy.com. There is no advertising and no tracking of you as a person anywhere in any of them.

The short version

There is no account and no sign-in. We never ask for your name, email address or phone number, and we have no way to identify you. The app shows no ads, contains no advertising or tracking SDKs, and does not sell or share anything with anybody.

The one thing the app does send anywhere is an optional backup of which lessons you have marked as watched. That is explained in full below, and you can turn it off or delete it at any time from inside the app.

What is stored on your device

The app saves the following in its own local storage. It is removed when you uninstall the app:

Progress backup (optional, on by default)

So that your progress survives losing or changing your phone, the app generates a random code the first time it runs — a string like 636a0259-21d6-4740-9324-5d7290e08098. It is generated on your device, it is not derived from anything about you or your phone, and it is the only thing that identifies your backup.

While backup is on, the app sends two things to our server: that code, and the list of lessons you have marked as watched. Nothing else. No name, no email, no device details, no location, no advertising identifier, no usage analytics.

The backup is stored by Cloudflare, which hosts our server, and is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection. As with any request to any website, Cloudflare processes the connection itself (including your IP address) in order to deliver it; Cloudflare acts as our service provider and does not use this to build a profile of you. We do not combine the backup with anything else, and because we never learn who you are, we cannot connect it to a real person.

Anyone holding your code can read and restore that progress, which is exactly how moving to a new phone works — so treat the code as private and only share it with yourself.

Turning it off and deleting it

In the app, open Progress → Backup & sync. There you can:

Uninstalling the app removes everything held on the device. If you want the server copy gone as well, delete the backup first, or email us the code and we will delete it for you.

Cookies

We set no cookies of our own, on the website, the web app or the mobile app. There is no advertising cookie, no analytics cookie and no tracking pixel belonging to us.

The web app stores your progress in your browser's own local storage — the backup code, which lessons you have marked as watched, and your settings. That is not a cookie, it is never sent to another site, and it exists only so the app can remember what you have done. Clearing your browser's site data for this address removes it.

YouTube does set cookies when you watch a lesson. Videos are embedded in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which means opening a lesson page stores nothing — but once you press play, YouTube may set its own cookies on your device under Google's privacy policy, exactly as it would if you watched the same video on YouTube. We receive none of it.

The web app is served through Cloudflare, which collects anonymous, aggregated performance measurements (such as page-load speed) for the pages it serves. Cloudflare Web Analytics uses no cookies and does not fingerprint or profile visitors; it tells us nothing about who you are. The mobile app does not include it at all.

Video lessons

Nawara Academy does not host any video. Every lesson is a publicly available YouTube video from the teacher or institution that published it, shown through YouTube's own embedded player. When a lesson plays, YouTube receives the request directly and its own privacy policy and terms of service apply to that playback, in the same way they would if you opened the video on YouTube itself. We receive nothing about what you watch.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages. It collects no personal information from anyone, children included, and has no social features, messaging, or user-generated content.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new “last updated” date.
